I was charged with assault w/weapon in June. The "victim" told the county attorney and my attorney it was an accident and that there were no charges needed to be pressed. (which it was an accident). NOw that the "victim" and I are no longer a couple, he has went back to the county attorney and told them that it was not an accident and that he wants to press charges. However yesterday the county attorney stated that all charges were dropped and that I was free to do what I wanted. So my question is can he do that after telling the truth about it being an accident can he go back after 3 months and four court dates tell a lie? And can the county attorny reinstate the charges?
