Hi,

I received a conditional discharge last November on a single count of mischief related to an altercation in a bar. I pled guilty but no conviction will be recorded if I fulfill 9 months of probation (ending this August). After that the conditional discharge will remain on CPIC, the national police database, for three years. This is not a criminal record.

I've been offered an interview for a job in the US. My question is would I be able to get a green card at present if I were offered a job (ie while I am still on probation). Would there be a difference after August when the discharge takes effect on the completion of my probation?

Thanks
