My wife and I met three months ago and married a few weeks later (I know...bonehead move...we both agree..but want to try to work it out). Three years ago I purchased a home ($60k equity) and 6 lots of lakefront property ($75k equity). I owe 27 years on the house and 2 on the land (the land is over half paid for).
I earn $120k per year. My wife earns $30k. I have a 401k with a $65k balance. Is it possible to remain married and separate all our finances? Does Tennessee law allow a postnuptial agreement that will ensure she has no rights to my house, land or retirement in case of divorce if we agree on terms now?
If not, is she entitled to any of my property if we file for divorce today?
