I recently received a call from a debt collection agency regarding my ex-husband. I have an unlisted, unpublished phone number. We have been divorced for 20+ years, and don't communicate ever. I want no association with him at all. He lives in a different state. My phone number should not have tied me to him what so ever.
How can this happen?

Google, Yahoo, a pizza delivery, census data, there are hundreds of ways your number can be passed around.

The ONLY way to ensure your privacy is to give your number to trusted associates and select family members.

Even then, people slip up and blab.

Two people can keep a secret if one is dead.

In this day & age just about anyone can come up with anyone's number.
