I know alot of the bankruptcy laws changed and it affected dr bills in a lot of cases. My problem is this...are they still permitted to call you, send you mail, and threaten legal action if you cannot afford to pay what they are requiring you to pay?? I sent them information about our income, and they are still saying I ahve to pay way more than I can affords or it will go to court and I will then ahve to pay court costs and legal fees. I argued with them over the phone about it. She also told me, if I didnt send the required amount, then we would be taken to court. Then of course there is the added charges of court. I cant afford the payment they are saying that we have to pay now, let alone any additional costs. to send what they want, I am gonna have to cut costs somewhere and the only place I can cut it is in my food budget. Is it right that I should have to take food from my children and family to pay a doctor bill??? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
