A deputy sheriff is told he needs a search warrant to come in. The deputy sheriff says, " No, I don't" and kicks in the front door. Several photos are taken as he is entering the home. A call to the sheriff is returned a few hours later. The sheriff claims to have watched body cam footage of the entire incident. The sheriff is informed of the photos and the deputy did not have a body cam. The Sheriff offers to pay for the door and payment is accepted. Does accepting payment mean the Civil rights violation was settled out of court?
