I have been paying child support for the last 4 and a half years. My child turns 18 in June. I've read that child support does not cease automatically when the child turns 18. I am trying to find out how I go about the process of getting the child suppport payments to stop once the child turns 18. Any light that can be shed on this matter for me, will be greatly appreciated.

My divorce was in California. Thank you.

What (if anything) does the judgment in the lawsuit say about your question?

You might want to call CA. child support enforcement and ask them how to put in to stop CS. I can tell you the process is not automatic and in most states you have to put in for it to stop.
