I believe that my niece is in an unsafe living environment with her mother and step father. She was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD at a very young age and is responsible for taking her meds at the age of 8. Her parents treat her like a slave. She is forced to "care" for her two brothers (4 and 2). They yell at her until she yells back and then they punish her for "losing it". And now I hear that they had another adult (male) living with them that liked to take her to her room alone.
I am at a loss for what can be done. The parents have been turned into DCF and as of right now, nothing has happened.
Both of the boys have been in the ER at least twice to have their stomachs pumped because they have taken pills that they found in the house (diabetic pills, I believe).
What should I do???

DCF does not owe you or anyone else any kind of report.

The best thing you can do is report the continued problem to DCF and to any other local authorities.

If what you "hear" is credible, call the police and report it.

Possibly DCF is working on the case. However; if you believe the children are in any type of immediate danger, call the police.
