About six years ago, I was charged with a misdemeanor crime, possession of marijuana, in the state of Maryland. I was arrested, fingerprinted, and spent the night in jail, but ultimately the arrest was performed incorrectly and violated my rights, and as a result, my lawyer spoke with the prosecutor at the trial and had the charges dismissed.

My lawyer had told me that he had gotten my record expunged. I recently started a job at financial company. They ran a nationwide criminal background check, which came up clean. However, the employer also fingerprinted me (I think they need to submit this to FINRA), and did some type of fingerprint check, which showed my arrest.

Is there a way to expunge my fingerprint record? I have another interview on Monday and would like to get this off my record ASAP.

Thanks!

Q: Is there a way to expunge my fingerprint record?

A: No; that info will always be in some private background check company's database.
