shoplifted two shirts ($28 worth of merch) and got caught. i am 19 and live in the state of california. they took me upstairs and took my picture and told me that i am not allowed into the store for 3 years and that their lawyer would be contacting me. they made me sign a notice of trespass form to make sure i dont come in the store again. police were never called and an incident report was filled out.
what are the fines that i am looking into? i have no priors, although, i do have a dui on my record.
also, do you think there is a possibilty for an our of court settlement, or, since the lawyer is going to be contacting me, should i assume that it is going on my record for sure?
