I was discharged from chapter 7 in january 2011. Many times I contacted the lein holder and told them I wanted to surrender the car. I took it once to the dealership and I was going to surrender it to them. The finance director call the leinholder and they were denied to have the car stored. I contacted the court and was told that the lein holder had never filed a proof of claim. Seven mos. later and the lein holder has not repo the car. I question? Is there any recoarse on my part because the lein holder did not file a proof of claim? Second is there a time line in which a lein holder has to take action on repo-ing the car? I live in the State of Nevada.

I took all the necessary steps to turn it in. Turned in the tags, canceled the insurance and now it is just sitting there I can not drive it.

So... get it back on your insurance, register it, and drive it all you want.
You can't make them repo it. If they were going to it likely would have been done by now. At this point you can consider it a cheap rental.
