I am getting divorce, during the marriage,I bought a car, I paid $10000 down payment from my account, the $10000 was my first husband left to me, he passed away and I was the beneficiary..The car title, loan and registration are my name..I continued pay for the car loan for about a year, then I unemployed for about two years, during these two years I helped my soon to be ex earn quite bit money with his business..So he pay for the car loan for about two years while I was umployed .. Now he wants to keep the car..Is this car considered as a community property since i live in a coummunity state.. And I able to keep the car after we file divorce?

If you want to keep the car, you'll have to ask for it during your divorce.

Despite the $10,000 you claim to have used as a down payment, the car WAS acquired during THIS marriage, not a prior marriage.

I suggest you make it clear to your lawyer that you want the car.
If you're doing a pro se divorce, make sure you LIST the car as one of the items you seek to retain when the assets are divided.

Agree, this will have to be decided during the divorce proceeding/in the divorce agreement.
