What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland, PG County...

I have been sued by AMEX for approx..$80k..Because I did not show up in court, they have received a judgement against me. They have filed for an EX parte hearing this friday..I have a couple of properties..My question is: Is there any way for me to postpone the hearing?? The reason is that I have a couple of properties that I am on the deed with my parents..I was told by a friend that they (AMEX) can foreclose on the properties if they get the ok to proceed at the EX-PArte hearing. He said even though my properties don't have any equity it doesn't matter..They can still proceed to foreclose..So, I want to delay the hearing for time to consult an attorney..

Please HELP ASAP!!Your answers are greatly appreciated.
Find an Attorney

Why have you not consulted with an attorney immediately? You can petition the court to potentially delay but do you have money to pay an attorney? This is not a contingency fee type of case.
