Ward is an 89 yr old man confined to a memory care at an ALF. Son was granted Guardianship. Other son lives in the home that the ward owns. All bills are in the wards name. Guardianship was granted a month ago. Lawyer for the guardian told the family ,in the courthouse, to pay house bills. A week later told the guardian that the bills can not be paid out of the wards accounts.

Becoming a guardian of an adult is easier than PERFORMING the duties guardianship mandates.

I suggest the guardian discuss what is expected of him/her as guardian, which should have been discussed before assuming the duties and responsibilities of guardianship.

HINT: If the proposed person in need of protection has limited funds, it is sometimes best to allow the state or courts to become the guardian.

Love is wonderful, but love can cost far more than one has to give!

Son was granted Guardianship.

Guardianship of the person or guardianship of the estate or both?

In the abstract, virtually anything can be done, and I'm not really sure what you expect anyone here to make of the two sentences in your post where you wrote what the lawyer told people.

Since all the people mentioned in the post are male and you're posting using a female name, what is your involvement in this situation?
