I put in my two weeks on Friday but was also signing paperwork for my new job that day and accidentally left one of my papers in the copier. One of the other employees saw it and told a manager can I be sued?

CAN you be sued? Sure. Anybody can sue anybody for anything.

Why would you think that your employer would sue you?

For using the company copier for personal use? What's that, about $1.50 in monetary loss to the company?

Don't sweat it.

It depends on what was printed or written on the document you forgot.

If it contained name, address, references, or other innocuous stuff; why would anyone sue you?

If the document contained your current employer's customer list, proprietary company data, company secret formulas, what do you think?
