My husband is in a local band that got asked to go on tour for a couple of weeks with a national band. After less than one week the drummer in the band decided to quit the tour and go home due to having severe panic attacks. Since the remaining members have returned he has been harrassing them because they have opted to not invite him back as a member because he left them in the middle of an important tour. Harassment includes repeatedly calling members and yelling obscenties (just days after emailing same members begging - his word, not mine - to be allowed back into the band), calling authorities to get one piece of equipment back that he didn't even ask anyone for so he could've gotten it at any time. Emailing the group and bullet pointing reasons why he hates each of them, why they are horrible muscians, and how he thinks nobody will go to their funerals, etc. Just immature, stupid stuff.
Finally my question - today he emailed an 'offer' to the band to either buyout his 1/5 membership in the band which he values at $450-$500 or invite him back as drummer and draw up a contract that they can not kick him out in the future. Does he have any legal right to $500 from a band that 1) He quit, and 2) Does not make money, they are actually a couple grand in debt from the two week tour?
The situation is getting very frustrating because he comes up with something new every single day. He just will not let it go. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
