Sex Crimes, Sex Offenders CA - Misdemeanor Question

Hello,

I received a misdemeanor ticket for urinating in public in Fullerton, CA. What kind've penalties can I expect? Will this be on my record? I do not have any priors.

I have also heard that in other states, people have been guilty of this have had to register as a sex offender!!

The specific violation i was cited for is as follows:
7.110.010 Public excretion.
No person shall urinate or defecate in a:

A. Public place;

No, it will not require you to register as a sex offender in CA.
This is a misdemeanor and is punishable with a fine of up to $1,000 and/or up to 6 months in jail. Expect the fine.

Update:

Was offered to plea not guilty - they said they would have a trial with a max $1000 fine and 6 months in jail

Guilty - $500 in fees and fines and have this on my record for 3 years.

Take a civil plea- $750 to one of their charities and everything is wiped clean

took the civil plea

hey i just got the same thing tonight, but the thing is i leave for school out of state before my court date. how should i go about this. Can i still do the civil plea like over the phone?

You can hire an attorney to do this. Hieu Vu in Anaheim does a lot of public urination cases.
