I belonged to a volunteer rescue squad for seven years. I wanted to make a bylaw change proposal to the membership, but officers did not follow their own bylaws and the change was not presented to the membersip as it should have been. After heated discussions back and forth, the officers dismissed me from the squad at a meeting I did not attend. I had no prior notice I was to be dismissed and they violated several more bylaws during the meeting at which I was dismissed. I tried to appeal my dismissal but they finally told me they were not going to discuss it further and to talk only to their attorney. Do I have any recourse for action against them for violating their own bylaws?

Q: Do I have any recourse for action against them for violating their own bylaws?

A: Hire a lawyer and give the lawyer the bylaws to study.
