I was working for a company for over 18 months and on the application it asked if you have ever had any CONVICTIONS. I checked NO because I had already sucessfully completed Deferred Adj. and it's not considered a conviction. I signed the consent for a background check BEFORE they hired me. 18 Months later they said something was on my background and i was TERMINATED. My background NEVER changed from the moment they hired me until that point furthmore it was deferred adj which i had already completed and i thought according to law it's not supposed to be held against you. Is that grounds for a lawsuit or is there NOTHING I can do?! PLEASE HELP...

THANKS

Unless you had a contract with your former employer, you can be fired for any or no reason.

Unless its a reason protected by the EEOC you can pretty much be fired for just about any reason.

If I were you, I would run your background check to see whats on there. Obviously something popped up.
