Most people would have contacted the police immediately upon learning they had been cheated.

    Now you know, too.

You start by reporting the incidents to your local police or sheriff.
Once you do that the police or sheriff will tell you how to proceed.

Don't expect to get any money back on your own, but do expect the prosecutor to pursue charges against the scammer.

If the prosecutor charges the deadbeat, you MIGHT get some (maybe all) of your money back through the court system.

Does this mean i will have to file suit against scammer? Because even if i win small claim court it will be hard to collect money. Should i contact some of these people that have been scammed from same guy and press criminal charges?

Report the crime to the police.

The police will tell you how to proceed.

    1. Sue.
    2. Report what happened to the police and/or district attorney.
    3. Nothing.

There are, of course, other options that may be of questionable legality.
