Hi Folks, I currently live in PA and I am having a dispute with my landlord over some fees he is trying to charge. Anyway, I don't have a contract or anything so I can move out whenever I want which is what I am going to do. The thing is at the beginning of this month I gave him a post dated check for next months rent and now that I have decided to move, I want my check back. Do I have the right to demand the check back? If he refuses to give it back how do I cover myself from bad check law if the check bounces which it will as it is out of an account I have recently closed? At the end of the day, I would not put it past this landlord to refuse to give me the check back then try and cash it and then when it comes back try and report me for a bad check...........so is there anything I can do to protect myself in that case?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
