No earned income credit?
I don't know what to do. In January, 2008, I underwent open heart surgery. When I attempted to return to work in May, I found out that my job had been eliminated(Because I had been an independent contractor I was ineligible for workers compensation or regular unemployment.). For the entire year my family and I have been living on welfare and a Federal unemployment extension. Now, in researching my tax situation, I find that I am ineligible for the "earned income credit", because I have no "earned income" for 2008. Do I have any options?
