I need some help. My apartment was broken into recently. None of the windows or doors were broken, so a key may have been used. My neighbor
thinks she saw a former employee in the area. Is the complex liable because the
security of the keys was compromised?

What does that mean? Your assumption is that this former employee is the one who broke into your apartment. Just because your neighbor thinks she saw a former employee in the area is not evidence that this person had a key to your apartment and actually broke in and stole from you and that because of this management is now responsible for your loss.
