I am in love with a Danish man we have been together for 7 years. We decided we wanted to get married at the end of this year. He still lives in Denmark and I live in America. We have informed ourselves very much so on the law of immigration but we have been getting mixed answers. My question is this:
I know he has to wait in his home country for his spousal visa to be approved. But does he have to wait in denmark for his greencard to be issued.
from what I understand and heard he just has to be approved with a spousal visa and he can come here and wait until his greencard is issued. But he seems to be under the impression from another danish citizen that he has to wait in his country for his GREENCARD to be issued.
Can someone please shed some light on the issue for us. And if he does get to stay in the USA till he gets his greencard how long is the spousal visa good for?
