Hello, just wondering what type of action I should take on this matter (if any)..
here are some details...

who : American Airlines/ non refundable airline ticket
what: trip to seattle
who: me ,hubby, and a friend
when: this was Feb 2008
why: friend had family medical emergency.....
what: called AA ...said I could put value of ticket towards another ticket...

issue: I purchased ticket ...but will not issue in my name since I booked it under friends name? Shouldn't it legally be my ticket regardless of what name I put it under? Please advise.

You need to read the rules and regulations of buying the ticket with American Airlines. There is your answer. Especially due to the sensitive nature of flying, it would seem more logical that the person whose name appears is the owner of the ticket. The fact that you put up the money seems secondary and that you bought and gave this ticket to the named flier. Just IMHO.
