Accident Not my fault but I was not insured

I was involved in an accident. The accident was not my fault. My problem is when I got home to call my insurance compay They tell me that my policey lapsed 1 month ago. So here I sit with no insurance (which I thought I had) What can I expect and what should I do

File a claim on the other driver's insurance. Your insurance status should not be a factor in the claim if the other driver was truly at fault.
