Criminal Trials, Hearings a friend needs help

my friend is supposed to be in court in austin next week. but here is the thing she has an austistic son and her mother is in the hospital with congestive heart failure. she has an appointed lawyer but has not been able to get him to take her calls nor return them. she has no license and no car and with her mom in hosp. she is unable to get down there. it is over 300 miles away. her son is unable to handle ridding a bus or plane and he will not allow anyone else to care for him. she has the money they want her to pay and the want to do what she is supposed to but not being able to reach her lawyer and get it continued is scaring her. what if she goes to jail where would her austistic son be then if u have any advice i would be greatful we dont know what to do and the date in closeing in on her fast
