I was hit going 64 to 45 on my way to work this morning. This was on 751 in New Hill (near Raleigh), a road that cycles back and forth between 45 and 55 as I recall. The particular spot I got nailed at was at the bottom of a decline I just drove thru (he was around the corner at the bottom).

Does anyone have any adivce (lawyer yes/no, try for prayer for judgement, etc)?
Does anyone have an idea what punishments I face?

I am 24 years old with no prior driving citations. I have had two misdemeanors when I was 18 for underage alcohol consumption, I hope that those won't play a faactor.

Any help is appreciated.

I ended up going at it alone. I arrived way early, talked to the ADA real briefly, got it reduced to 9 over, paid and left. A lawyer would have been major overkill and a waste, as I had suspected it would be.

I do ownder if I got bonus points for dressing up with a coat and everything, the clerk woman who gets your record out of the file thought I was an attorney at first.

Congrat's on handling it yourself and thanks for letting us know how it went.

Dressing like a lawyer did not hurt, showing respect for the court counts.
