My wife received a speeding ticket in Texas in September 1999. At the time we were residents of the State of California. I advised her to just ignore the ticket. We have since moved to the State of Arizona and have now received a threatening letter from a independent law firm if this old ticket (and subsequent fines) is not paid. Can an independent law firm do anything to us in The State of Arizona?

California will not suspend your drivers license for unpaid tickets in Texas. That is why most Texas officers make a California driver post bond rather than just letting them go with a ticket. Arizona will suspend your license. They can also put the unpaid ticket on your credit report and you could be arrested if stopped in Texas.
