have son that has been charged by girlfriends father one week before her 16 birthday are in plea bargin stage looks like 6 years active term is least he is a good kid unlucky in love he graduated has held job for 5 years one day sick pays his own way great attitude parents of girl divorced mother allowed them to see each other we have to except plea or go trial public defender says plee it just seems we are not able to get his day in court without him facing more time what kind of avenues can we take
 
I assume he engaged in sex or sex acts with this minor. He is facing prison and lifetime regsitration as sex offender. His lawyer is your best source of plea options. Its unlikely any plea deal will keep him off sex offender registry which basically makes a career in anything almost impossible. I know you came here seeking answers but no one other than an attorney familar with the case can really give you what you want
 
You don't want him to go to court with charges like that. Take the best plea offer you can get.
He should only consider going to trial if the accusations against him are outright false. If there is any truth to them it would be foolish to face a jury.
Your son may be a good kid, but he apparently made some very poor decisions that he is going to have to face the consequences for.
He knew when it all began that he should not be fooling around with such a young girl, and there is no way to convince jury otherwise.
