Hi,
I read in this forum how the landlord has a right in collecting the full amount of a lease from either of the two tenants (in this 2 tenant case) and that landlord can pursue either one tenant or both to recover the full amount.

Situation currently is this:
I was on lease with one other (deadbeat) tenant and we became past due on lease, which ended a year ago.
Money is still owed and I have been paying the landlord in small installments but landlord/ collector has made no effort to pursue other tenant for any $ whatsoever.
I have reached 50% of total owed and I want other tenant to pay or get harrassed for his fair share.
Is there anything I can do in order to shift some burden onto said tenant As it's been already stated, the landlord is allowed to pursue the easiest means of recovering money's owed.
I do not know where other tenant resides as he owes more than this and is living off parents funds, so hard to track. Any specific course of action

Thanks for any help.
