You can't do a prayer for judgment in Virginia. Some courts in Maryland do have a deferment but you need to make sure the ticket is not reported to the DMV. MD and VA both report to NC. Some courts in VA will dismiss with court costs if you have a clean record but you usually have to hire an attorney. The attorney will run you 300 to 400 but this is still cheaper than the insurance increase. Start by calling the clerk of court for each ticket to see what advice they can give you. If you can get the VA ticket dismissed you can pay the MD ticket since there is no insurance increase as long as you don't get another 9 over ticket.
