1st Speeding Ticket

I received a Speeding Ticket about a week ago and the court date is in May. It's my first one ever and I'm 37. The officer never said how fast I was going but reduced it to 70 in a 55. I honestly don't recall as I don't normally speed excessively.

Would this be a candidate for Prayer for Judgment? If so how does it work? Do I simply show up on the court date and defend myself? Does PJC remove the Ticket amount as well or simply the Insurance and/or Driver Points?

Any help would be appreciated. All the websites I'm finding on this are for the lawyers trying to get my attention.

Presuming you are in NC...

The PJC only defers insurance points and is at the discression of the Judge.

Try first to get it reduced to a 9 over since there are no insurance points for this speed with your first offense.
