1st MIP in michigan Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication

I just got my first mip in michigan. I told my parents and feel better about htat. i was drinking at a state campground. How much more money will I have to pay? I'm going to california in 3 months for college- are they still going to let me go? what about probation? i have a good record. is there a way they should know that, like how i have 170 hours of community service, i'm involved in youth group, nhs, and i graduated with high honors, or do they not care about it? should i get a lawyer?
pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee help.

There often a lot of discretion on the judges part about how to handle MIPs. I google these talking points about the new Michigan laws enacted in 2004.

First time offenders may not even get a misdemeanor charge IF they follow the terms of their probation. Since you look like a good citizen on paper you will likely get probation. So follow it to the letter and you should be OK. I don't know if you need to hire a lawyer. Is there a public defender or a court clerk you can talk to?
