1st Car accident

I ws pulling out and cut too short, resulting in knocking a guys tail light cover and some minor scratches, i was wondering how much money in damages would result from an incident. The i car i hit is a old chevy truck, but the guy still wants to get an estimate from his insurance company.. im only 16 years and just recently got my license

The person you hit deserves full compensation for the damages you caused even though is is "an old Checy truck." Plus he will be out the time he has to take getting estimates and messing around dropping off the truck and getting a car rental (which you will have to pay for) so he has something to drive while the vehicle you damages is in repair.

Minimum charges in and out of a body shop if paint is involved is in the $500 to $1,000 range.

The biggest hit will be to your (parents?) insurance, probably at least a 50% increase.
