Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft 18, First offense in California. Help me!

I recently got caught at winco stealing about 10 dollars worth of stuff. Being my first offense, could I have it made into an infraction? I'm just curious what comes next. I'm in placer county if it matters.
