Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft 17 NC Misc alcohol items worth $7.77 from (Dept. Store)

I was caught stealing beer from (Dept. Store) ($7.77 worth) yesterday afternoon. I was caught by (store) asset protection and was told if I would have had my ID on me they would have called my parents instead of involving police. Bottom line I was caught. I'm worried because my court date is set for after I leave for college. This is my first ever charge it was stupid and I need advice to handle it the right way with minimal damage.
My questions are...
1) What are the most likely outcomes of this trial?
2) Do I need to hire an attorney?
3) How can I get my court date moved to get my punishment, and if it ends up being community service will the judge let me do it during winter break or even this summer if my date is moved up?
4) Will this be expunged?
