I am in Greene County, Ohio and wrote a bad check at a local grocery store. We were sent a notice which gave us ten days, but we got preoccupied, (the wife and I), two kids; one starting college and the other first day time high school. We were greeted by a police officer in the driveway with a summons to appear in court on a M-1 Passing Bad Checks Court summons.
The date is tomorrow at 8:00 am and have no idea what to do or how to plead since I have no experience with the court systems. It was one check with our existing checking account and was an oversite on our part. We went to the grocery store and apologized and offered to pay but they said it was out of their hands now. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
