i'm a minor that got caught shopliftting and was charged as felony(burglary.) i was arrested and released later that day to my parents without any bail. i was just wondering, how come in other cases people had to pay bail?

How come it takes so long to receive the letter? By any chance, could they dismiss or drop the charges?

No. I was arrested and released later that day without any bail. The police officer said I'd receive it "in a few days in the mail." but it's been 5 weeks.

oh, and i also called the DA office. they don't have my file so i'm assuming it's still at the police station.

it's been about 5 weeks that i've been charged with burglary/petty theft. i'm 17 soon to be 18. i have received the restitution fees but not the court date. is it possible that they're waiting until i'm 18 to charge me as an adult?
