need more info Does the minor have any priors? What was the value of the stuff taken? Did he sign a cinfession doc at the store?

Was there a warrant for your arrest? If so, they can bust open your door.....does sound a bit excessive for dog barking/noise charge.

Depends on what state you live in. Most states though rate embezzelment much more severely than someone from the outside stealing. What has happened over the past few months, please update.

So, what's happened? Been a while since your post. I would think if you got sued, you'd have excellent recourse for a countersuit.

Some more advice If you have any friends that are attys, run your situation in front of them for a looksee.

Advice for your friend. He/She should hire an atty and attempt to get their record cleard (expunged). Has your friend had a clean record ever since? Done good for the community? All these mitigating factors will decide. Please advise.

What were you convicted of? Felonies are very hard to get expunged. If it was a felony, hire an atty. it will be money well spent.

The law will find you eventually Not worth living your life in fear. Contact a lawyer and get in front of it now.

did you get the PJC is that how you got it reduced? I got a PJC 5 yrs ago and had to do 24 hrs comm service too.

Pay the settlement Write on the check - Final payment for my infraction. If they cash/deposit it - they can never ask you for another dime.

Depends on the jurisdiction Some take this very seriosly, others don't...5 or 6 phone calls won't raise many eyebrows. 500 will!
