Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

 You cannot give alcohol to a minor, parent or not! The fact that you are the parent may even add child services needing to be called in to take your children from you. Nowhere in America, short 1 room at the culinary institute in NY, is a minor allowed to consume alcohol. As far as...

#1- it is legal for a debt purchasing company to buy debts. #2- New Century Financial purchased the debt, then gave the case to Pressler to sue you. They are not the same company. New Century Financial employees many attorney offices to sue on their debts. Pressler is a debt collection campany...

    pressler & pressler

I took a look at this. That person answered the complaint, and got a lawyer to respond to all the pretrial motions. It actually went to trial, and they proved their case. The key thing is, the court is friendly to any alledged debter pre-judgment. It's post-judgment where Pressler gains their power.

First things first- if you have to fill out an information subpoena, there is a judgment against you. You owe this money. The law is not working for you anymore. They are legally entitled to that information. If you call them to set up a payment arrangement, you can avoid a wage garnishment or...

Arrest, Search, Seizure, Warrant who was wrong

Lorraine- My advice is get a new boyfriend. You can never, NEVER, strike an officer. If you are going to keep him around- get a lawyer to try to plead him to a lesser charge. The only thing is, if the prosecuting attorney does not want to deal it is your boyfriends word (worthless) against the...

Repossessed car over 7 years ago

Wow- where to begin. First, I would check the statute of limitations in your state- 7 years may not be to long to collect. The thing is, if they threatened to garnish your wages (which is another thing you need to look up because the highest garnishment I have ever heard of is only 10%) it means...

Notice of Exemptions for Judgement filed

Depends on what state you are in, but generally the court allows a $1,000.00 personal property exemption. That means if you have a tv, couch, or car, claim them as exempt from execution. Also, cash in a bank account may be claimed exempt via personal property exemption. The thinking is, "a...

Emergency - Quitting School and Family Issues

#1- you are 17. All this dance is my life stuff is BS. You are to young to determine what is and is not your life. That is why you are not legally emancipated. You can't vote, drink, buy cigarettes- you are a child. #2- Your father is obviously looking out for your best interests. Very few...

Just google (bally's "class action"). I got 71,800 hits. Also, if you filled out the subpoena and sent it back to Pressler- call them ASAP to set up a payment plan on your terms. If you don't- you will end up owing more (see above comment RE: court officer fees)

Unfortunatly you have a problem with balleys. They are in a class action suit in California for bad business practices with lots of extend contracts. Good news is, if they lose, your case will be dismissed. Bad news is, until then the judgment against you is valid. Worse news is, this case is...

bonjovi is correct- you cannot be arrested for not paying a debt. However, you can be arrested for contempt of court, which is what will happen if you do not complete the information subpoena pressler has sent you. Since they have a judgment against you, they are entitled to the information...
