Speeding 90 mph in 55 mph First Ticket

Given you age and speed you really need to consult an attorney if you want to keep your license. Conviction is a misdemeanor (criminal record), your license will be suspended and you earn 4 insurance points (90% increase for 3 yrs)...

    PJC and Insurance points

NC Insurance rates related to traffic violations are "suppose" to be based on your (SDIP) insurance points. The "Consumer Group" story sounds flaky. Change insurance companies if they don't explain/resolve it. You may also have grounds to file a complaint with the NC insurance commission...

    Speeding ticket in NC

NCSP were busy this weekend, saw them everywhere :-) Hope you both weren't in construction zones, add $250 to the fine if so. NC keeps construction zones active years after the construction is finished, wonder why ;) As LWPAT suggested, check the impact with you local DMV first. If there...

    Citation for 69 in a 45, NC

What county? If convicted you are risking a suspension of your license and 45% increase in insurance. http://www.ncsu.edu/stud_affairs/legal_services/legaldocs/Trafficpoints.htm 24 over might be tough to negotiate down on your own (depending on where & when it happened). Retain an attorney or...

    Speeding Ticket In Asheville, NC

It's highly likely officer is trying to send a message charging your son with 51 in a 35 (rather than 50 in a 35). I'll bet he was going faster and plea may be hard to get. If he needs to drive, take this seriously since his license will be suspended if convicted for more than 15 over...

Indiana ticket...Illinois Points? Is fighting it worth it?

It's almost always better to contest the ticket to get a reduction. Check with the IL DMV and be sure you understand the consequences when a conviction is reported back. Also check to see what you insurance increase will be. As Sr. Judge indicated, an attorney has the best chances to...

    It was a Yellow Light!

Would have helped if you indicated your state. Plead not guilty. If they offer to reduce it to a non-moving with a fine, take it. Otherwise, come back with a lawyer.

    I made a huge mistake..91 in a 55

What state? Everybody makes mistakes, this will pass. A lawyer has the best chance to minimize the damages. Usually the lawyer cost less that the first years insurance increase. You also normally do not need to go to court if you use an attorney so there is savings in time and stress.

Car Dealer was Driving my car he was to sell! and damaged it! Help!

Dumb question -- could the dealer be charged with auto theft? Doesn't seem much different than taking a car from the dealer for a drive an not returning it ;)

Did you have any previous convictions? If so, he might have pulled your record and changed his mind based on that.

    Insurance Points?

If you are referencing one of my posts -- this applies to North Carolina where there is a separate points system for insurance. I'm not aware of any other state that has a separate insurance points system (and would not recommend it be duplicated anywhere else...). There are others here who...

    Speeding Ticket

Respectfully ask for a reduction to 9 over first, there will be no insurance points for a first offense. Fine + court costs will be around $130. If they won't reduce it, plead not guilty and come back with an attorney. If convicted, this will earn you 4 insurance points which is a 90%...

    Speed racing ticket...um, no.

I'd go with what CdwJava recommended -- try for traffic school and get a lawyer. You are probably aware a highly modded vehicle screams "arrest me" in some parts of the country. Most officers have scraped the results of street racers off the road enough times you don't even want to start to...

Suggestions for out of state ticket in NC

As lwpat suggested, retaining an attorney to get it reduced is probably best. You will not have to appear in court. Conviction greater than 80 is misdemeanor (not felonies) which can cause a problem when applying for some jobs...
