    Why would the trustee file the proofs of claim? I know there are times when you want them to be filed such as a mortgage where you are keeping the home. But other than that, what would be the purpose?

    I understand that in order for a creditor to get paid in a chapter 13 bankruptcy they have to file a proof of claim. It's also my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that a 13 has to be set to be either 3 or 5 years long. Just out of curiosity, what if no creditors filed a proof of claim...
