    Hello

From what you've posted, I don't believe your mother was treated unfairly. She ignored the principal's request to go to his office several times. Should he have yelled? No, but your mother should have gone to the office. She was insubordinate, and if she didn't get a letter for that, then she IS...

Want to change kids school - better schools

I have to agree. This is getting tiresome, and, more importantly, it's just plain dangerous to dispense incorrect and bad advice to posters looking for legal help. *sigh*

    Back Child Support

I'm not sure if you're saying that $6000 is the amount he's overpaid, or the total amount he's paid since March. If you're receiving $2000/month in unallocated support, I believe you will owe the difference between the $2000/month in unallocated support and the new monthly child support amount...

    Should we calling the police?

Really, if your son strives to be a responsible father, then he will go to court to establish paternity, then file for joint legal and physical custody. That's the responsible thing to do and it doesn't require that he leave the girlfriend. Until he does that, nothing can change. I don't know...

On what grounds does one get a ticket for throwing a cig on Bay Bridge?

Littering? I've always lived in the midwest, and have only been to CA once, but even I know it's against the law to throw a butt out of your car window in CA. Though the charge may be littering, I think the original law targeting butts was in response to the number of devastating fires they...

    New marriage, old debt...please help!

HOWEVER..... If you default on your debts, all joint accounts and property will be at risk of being seized to pay the debt. To avoid this, keep checking and savings accounts, as well as other assets, separate.

    Custody?

Well, how about you offer to take care of him while she works and parties? Or, you can wait until he starts kindergarten. His teacher will notice the neglect and report it to CPS. Of course, since you would have known about it for at least 2 years, and did nothing, they probably wouldn't...

    child support

Another possibility... Were your rights involuntarily terminated? Were you in arrears on your child support? Are you sure he was adopted?

    Can cps do this

Yeah, something's not right here IMO. The son is a party to the CPS case if he's still married to the mother of the child, and would know what's going on. He wouldn't have to rely on his father-in-law telling him. Right??

Grandparent trying to get rights but her son gave up his parental rights..

You thought wrong. In Indiana, the grandparents are still legally considered "blood relatives" and can pursue visitation rights. She doesn't have to allow visitation without a court order, but the grandparents are still entitled to request visitation from the court.

Not surprising... She's usually right! :angel

    Children visitation

This is the argument that has been made numerous times in numerous threads, but you've repeatedly given advice that ignores it. And I don't think anyone said it could. ALL the responses are about NY's jurisdiction over the custody of the children. OP could ultimately lose custody of her...

    Custody chances?

In Illinois, a Voluntary Acknowledgment of Paternity must be completed before the father's name is added to the birth certificate. If his name is on the BC, then he has legally acknowledged paternity.

    need some help

Are you LEGALLY separated from your husband? I suspect not, since there are no custody orders. If you are not legally separated, then I would contact the Ohio school district again. Let them know that you are still legally married, not separated, but that you will be living in Ohio while...

    My child spanked in Daycare

I would expect a college graduate to understand that there are many reasons for the lack of respect many of today's youth have for others. Perhaps you should consider some courses in sociology or psychology.

Support reduction @ 18 years in GA

I'm curious about who told you that? As far as I know, most decrees do NOT specify an amount per individual child, and can be modified whenever children age out/graduate.
