Out of State Subpeona

Hi,

I was sued for negligence in Missouri, but I live in Michigan, and I have since before the suit was filed. I've received a subpeona notice from the opposing lawyers saying I'm supposed to be deposed at his office in Missouri.

Can he compel me to appear in Missouri. Does anyone know the rule? Shouldn't he have to come to me?

You cannot be compelled to go to Missouri but it may be in your best interest. We know nothing of the situation. You should be consulting with your own attorney.
