I left this office to work for a competitor. My former boss has harassed me since I left. He has accused me of manipulating a printer so it dose not work (he bought the piece of garbage on line secondhand) He has called my home and talked to my husband and told him he could tell him things that would ruin our relationship. He has called me and told me he would make contact with my new employer to try and ruin my job. He did make contact with my new employer but his lies did not work. Again today he sent me an email accusing me of taking things from the office and messing with his computer system. All LIES. He has 2 attorneys in his family and he is threatening to sue me. I am sick of his lies and accusations. He is a very computer savvy man and I am afraid he will manufacture stuff. What can I do? I can not afford to get into a legal battle with him.

The reasons I left are very simple. He is mean and manipulative. He is cheap and changes office policy and benefits to his benefit. He cheated me out of vacation time and bonuses when I left, but I did not think it was worth pursuing. I just want to be left alone!

He has 2 attorneys in his family and he is threatening to sue me. Sue you for what?

Sue you for what?

He said he would accuse me of taking stuff from his office and messing with his computers and printer. I never took anything or screwed with is computers. I afraid he will make stuff up and sue me. I guess maybe I'm nieve about this?? What could he sue me for???

Tell your former boss to cut it out and make him aware that if he doesn't, you will file a restraining order against him. Good Luck!

You might want to see if you can get an attorney to write him a cease and desist letter.

Last night I replied to his email and told him I did not know anything about the altered computer or missing stuff. I asked him to leave me alone and move on. I made it clear that I did not want any more contact from him.

This morning he replied..that he would not send me any more emails but that I would have to do alot of explaining to the right people.

I'm suggesting that a letter from an attorney telling him to stop, might carry more weight than an e-mail from you asking him to stop.

If hes sending you these threats in letter form; electronic or otherwise save them. Also remember exactly what time he calls to threaten you, write down the place and time and if something happens use it as harrassment evidence.

I've got a suspension for 3 days yesterday but the reason of the suspension was based on a lie. The HR department didn't gave me the chance to defend myself, just handled out the suspension. I was suspended because I made a complain about my boss, so my boss invented a lie and got me suspended. The disciplinary path in our company is clear: verbal warning, written warning and just after that a suspension. I've got suspended directly without going through the regular process. What can I do in this situation? It is legal the way HR suspended me?
