I have a 15 year son who has not been formally charge with a crime, but, he has been in custody for about 6 1/2 weeks now. The system here stated that on April the 8th of 2008 he would be released to my custody but he would have to be put back on probation. i wonder how is it that a child can be put on probation when he has not been formally charge with a crime. On this day of April 8th 2008 my son was supposed to go to court when all of a sudden his supposed-to-be attorney got sick the day before court and her office did not contact me until the same day of his court to state that she was sick and could not attend court. Now mind you I have not spoken to his attorney since he's been locked-up for these past 6 1/2 weeks. Every time I would call her she would not return my calls to keep me updated on the ststus of my sons case. I don't know what is really going on with these people down here in Southern Illinois but all I know is that my son an I are getting the wrong end of the stick. And for the record my son has never been in any trouble in the streets, he has a history of ADHD and been in behavoir school since the 5th grade.

Somethings not right. If you can afford a better lawyer for your son, it would be a good time to get one.

I don't understand a few things. 1-Was your son on probation at the time this started? You mention "would be released to my custody but he would have to be put back on probation". Please clearify.
