My daughter lives in a house that rents out the rooms. Since Saturday only part of the house has electricity, only part of the outlets and lights work. There is no heat in the house either. With the nights getting down around freezing it makes it very uncomfortable. Does she and the other tennets have any recourse against the landlord? This is in Washington state.

Thanks

The landlord was called on Saturday, told them there was nothing that could be done until Monday. Monday a friend of the landlord showed up and couldn't figure out what was wrong, landlord said he would try and get an electrician out to the house. As of Wed AM no one has showed up to look at the problem. All utilites are included in the rent payment.

You make a formal demand to the landlord...It is the obligation of the LL to tend to the necessary expenses of the subject premise, including of course the electricity.

Otherwise, if everything else is not viable, confer with a lawyer and make a move to sue the LL in the proper courts.

Or if not, find another nest to settle.
Ease up...
