Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft neighbor kids gettig away with theft

My daughters and I(and 4 other family's were robed)
Recently had our flat screen tv ,game player and other stuff stolen from neighborhood kids and the local police don't seem to care or do anything about it. One of the other fathers suggested that we post the kids picture around on telephone poles and such saying their SUSPECED(and some have been convicted)of home burglars in the neighborhood and to watch out for them although they are just under suspicion and have not been convicted of most recent crimes. Is this against the law ?? what else can we do ?? the kid's parents are also in denial

how do you know they robbed you? is there evidence?
if you post their pictures publicly, then i think you could be sued for slander or libel or something like that.
