I sold a car a month ago. I did not get my plates or any info on this person. It was a cash deal. He did not transfer the vehicle and I know this because I got a bill for the toll charges. The car is over a yr out of registration and not showing to be inspected. I checked with dmv. I filed the form for waiting on transfer of title but Im right at the 30 days. My only clue is the toll roads show where he gets on an exits. Do I have any recourse? Can I file something against the plates or a new title since he has not transferred it and there is no bill of sale?

So you sold an as is car and got no bill of sale? It is as if you still own it then.

You always get a bill of sale even if you sold it for 10 bucks.

Sorry, you blew it. Should have taken the plates off the car. You're still the owner until that car is retitled or the vehicle transfer notice is filed. You're responsible for anything that happens.

You should have submitted the vehicle transfer notice the day you sold the vehicle. A lot can happen in 30 days.
